Chanting Book

Venerable Chao Khun Keng encourages everyone not only to recite the Buddha’s teachings (Suttas) but also to truly understand their meaning.

He once shared a personal story from his early years as a monk in Thailand. For 12 years, he diligently memorized Pali chants and could recite them fluently. However, during a visit by students from the University of Technology to Santi Forest Monastery, one of them asked him about the meaning of the chants. To his surprise and embarrassment, he realized he couldn’t explain them.

That moment became a turning point. From then on, he was determined to have the Pali chants translated into both English and Mandarin, so that anyone who chants can also understand the teachings being recited.

Thanks to this aspiration, the full translation of the morning and evening Pali chants used at Santi Forest Monastery has been completed.

Anyone interested in receiving a free copy of the chanting book is welcome to visit Santi Forest Monastery.
