8 Preceptors Application


The monastery offers a limited number of guest rooms for men and women interested in exploring monastic life.

If you’d like to experience this unique path, please be prepared to observe the eight precepts and follow the daily schedule and monastic training rules outlined in the following requirements and briefing video.

Requirements

To get initial understanding:

  • Visitor provides at least 14 days in advance of their proposed stay.
  • Visitor shall arrive the monastery between 9AM-12PM on the first day of their stay.
  • Visitor shall aware they are doing mainly self-practicing with the guidance of the Dhamma teaching uploaded in Youtube channel. Senior monks who are staying in the monastery will be giving Dhamma talk subject to their availability.
  • Children under the age of 18 are unable to stay overnight in the monastery.
  • Visitor is asked to develop an attitude of simplicity and mindfulness by not using phones or internet while practising.
  • Santi Forest Monastery will not be held responsible for any physical or mental injury arising during and/or after attending this practice.
  • **New visitor with no experience of staying in monasteries may apply for an initial stay of 3 nights only. Visitor who are new to Santi Forest Monastery but with prior experience of staying in other monasteries may request longer stays on the condition that the first 3 nights are probationary with the subsequent nights stay granted depending that the first 3 unfold to the satisfaction of the community.

Register For Your Stay

This registration reserved solely for making requests to stay at the monastery. The monastery is dedicated to providing a space for sincere practice. We want to ensure the monastery is the perfect fit for your practice goals. We review applications to see if an overnight stay aligns with our requirements.

  • If approve, you won’t receive further email/ messages/ call. 
  • If remain pending, you will be contacted to understand your practice goals and experience. (Usually first time visitor).
  • If reject, you will be contacted, as your application isn’t the best fit for your current practice journey, we’d be happy to suggest other resources or programs.
